The Mets rotation takes another blow

By Gem Tablak

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com tweeted earlier that the Mets are officially labeling deGROM’s injury  as “forearm soreness”.

deGROM did have an MRI done & it shows no structural damage but there is inflamation in the forearm & the Mets definitely intend to skip at least his upcoming start. One thing I find extremely interesting about this whole situation is how Terry Collins’ says he didn’t have any idea of what went on between deGROM & Mets head trainer Ray Ramirez. It makes me wonder if Sandy Alderson requested for TC to talk about injuries as little as possible & let Sandy handle the media.

This is coming at a bad time as the Mets are chasing the Cardinals down for the 2nd Wild Card spot & while it seems like the Mets haven’t caught a break all season long, they’ve managed to keep themselves right in the mix of things. In the midst of all these injuries, September call ups couldn’t come soon enough.
