1986 Hero Wally Backman Leaving The Mets – Resigning or Fired?

By Paul DiSclafani: The only thing we know for sure is Wally Backman is leaving the Mets organization. Depending on who else you get your information from, the stories are very different. General manager Sandy Alderson released a statement about Backman deciding to leave the organization that said “Wally has decided to move on.
