Cabrera leaves the game

By Gem Tablak

In the 1st inning of the series finale against the Phillies, Cabrera dropped down a bunt for an infield single however the throw to 1st was high which caused Phillies 1st Baseman Tommy Joseph to collide with Cabrera as he was running past the bag. The throw ended up going over Joseph’s head & allowed Cabrera to advance to 2nd where Flores came in to pinch run.

Initially on the hit, it looked like Cabrera was grabbing for his back &/or shoulder however the Mets had announced that he exited due to a sore left knee. In the last 15 games Cabrera has a slash line at .327/.361/.582 & has 3 HR’s in his last 2 games, not including today. So it’s no secret to when I say the Mets need him to be healthy so hopefully this will not lead to his 2nd DL stint of the season.
