Bostons top prospect, Yoan Moncada won the MVP of the futures game & he probably deserved it most as there were a lot of hit going around. However, Mets AAA 2nd Baseman got his rounds in too.
In Herrera’s 1st at bat of the game, he came in as a pinch hitter for the World teams DH & he struck out looking on a very questionable call. In my opinion, it was a curve ball that wrapped around the plate however the home plate umpire had a pretty wide strike zone throughout the game.
In his 2nd AB, with runners on 1st & 2nd, Dilson Herrera ripped a single passed the 3rd baseman to drive in a run & the following batter, Mets top prospect Amed Rosario also got a hit to load the bases in his 2nd AB. They both ended up going 1-2 while Herrera had an RBI for the World Team.
