Mets select Justin Dunn with the 19th pick in the 2016 Draft.

Dunn, a RHP, stands at 6’2″ & is originally from Freeport, NY. Boston College intended on using him as a closer but due to odd circumstances he was pushed to the rotation & took off from there. The comp to Ventura of the Royals has been thrown out there & I see that as well as a mix with a little bit of Marcus Stroman.

AS A JUNIOR (2016)

Earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference Third-Team honors … also named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England Second Team … named a semifinalist for the Greg Olson Award, which honors college baseball’s breakout player of the year … earned a spot on the Oxford All-Regional Team … has a 1.49 ERA with a 4-1 record, two saves and three combined shutouts in 17 appearances and seven starts … ERA is best in the ACC while opponent batting average is fifth … recorded a 1.43 ERA with 43 strikeouts and just 13 walks as a starter … racked up a win, two saves, 17 strikeouts and just three walks in nine appearances out of the bullpen … in total, allowed 46 hits, just 12 runs – 10 earned – 16 walks and 66 strikeouts over 60.1 innings … of the 41 hits allowed, just eight – six doubles, one triple and one home run – are for extra bases … one of two Eagles to throw a complete game in 2016 … 9.11 strikeouts per game is eighth in the ACC and 6.71 hits per game is fourth … struck out a career-high 11 en route to opening regional win over No. 15 Tulane (6/3), allowing five hits, two runs and just one walk … helped the Eagles to their first ACC Baseball Championship appearance in six years with his first career complete game at No. 22 Georgia Tech (5/21), allowing just six hits, three runs – two earned – without walking a batter and recording a career-high nine Ks … earned ACC Pitcher of the Week and NEIBA Pitcher of the Week honors on May 23 for performance … struck out six in three innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one just hit and no walks against Niagara (5/14) … allowed just one run over seven innings against Wake Forest (5/7), allowing five hits, three walks and four Ks … did not give up a run in a 5.2-inning start against Virginia Tech (4/30), collecting the win and allowing three hits, four walks and striking out six … went six against No. 4 Louisville, allowing just one run on six hits and one walk with four Ks and a pickoff … in first start of the season against No. 16 Virginia, went five innings, allowing just two hits, no runs, one walk and struck out five … collected the save in the series-opening win at Pittsburgh (3/24), striking out two in a 123 ninth … earned first win of the season in a 3.1-inning relief appearance at No. 8 NC State, giving up just one hit and three walks while striking out two … collected first save of the year in a two-inning appearance against Indiana State (2/27), allowing a run on four hits while striking out two.
